To move in line with englands
Do they not realise we will have schools health services etc
All off as normal
Apparently cwu agreed this at national level

Local holidays? Are you talking about those single Saturdays each office gets between May and September? We got ours as usual on the first week of July so I take it this is something to look forward to next year.

Does this include the Gold Cup Monday that Ayr, Kilmarnock and Cumnock take off? Which is the Monday before the one the rest of the central belt take.

Different parts of the network being off while others are not and vice versa generally causes havoc with the pipeline. The company has been agitating about this for years. They would dearly love to take January 2nd off us.

Every year I get asked if I'm off for the local September fair weekend. It has never been a holiday for me in this job. Aligning with Glasgow was apparently something that was voted into practice when some of our managers weren't born yet.

But this is only one holiday - there are several variances throughout the whole UK with local holidays - Good Friday is one, there are a few in NI too - I take it everything like that might be under threat?

The day after September monday bank Holiday is chaos I can see why they have swapped us to the August bank holiday,.the 2nd January holiday is different if they were to remove that I think people would just not turn up that day or take an unpaid day that's certainly what I would do.

Like I said, there are quite a few varied holidays scattered through the UK, seems a bit strange to suddenly target this one. Nothing to stop them going for Jan 2nd next.

Maybe they will make english offices give up the good Friday holiday and give then the 2nd January off instead who knows.
