Re: USO Deployment/Equality Act/DDA
It's doubtful that any will be able to go to the MC as all the "DDA duties" will already be spoken for.

The agreement states that all current adjustments remain in place.

What agreement and where in that agreement does it state that?

Re: USO Deployment/Equality Act/DDA
The agreement you voted on, any DDA posties that have had their duty amended have to be able to pick a suitable duty on the office repick. So basically the duty they were probably on. The adjustments can in theory be applied to a different duty but that would mean extra planning and disruption, so probably easier to maintain the status quo.
The agreements specifically states that suitable duties should be made available to accommodate any current DDA posties, it doesn't specifically state that it has to be their current duty.

Understand what you are saying with adjusted duties, but with the extra volume accommodating the extra added duty, how will the employee cope with that extra workload over three duties with capability?

Re: USO Deployment/Equality Act/DDA
I guess it depends on what the reasonable adjustments are now, if its fewer delivery points and more indoor work then I am sure the same ratios could be applied. Possibly a singleton duty doing 50/50, who knows? I am sure the individuals concerned will be proactive during any planning phase, I know I would be asking questions from the very early stages and getting the Union Rep onboard and also approaching the planner when they come into the office.
They can not be "managed" out of their job and probably have greater protections than a regular postie if push came to shove.
The key thing here is get involved, have your say no matter what stage in your career you are at. Look after yourself and your colleagues, make sure the new duties are fair and balanced after all there will be a repick and you may end up doing anything.

Re: USO Deployment/Equality Act/DDA
They can push you out of your job role through major organisational restructuring changes and savings targets on capability.
It does not matter whether the EA covers you or not.
The planners will not be interested in making single duties available to accommodate protected characteristics
That does not mean you cannot apply for another vacancy in the business through a scoping exercise for a suitable position.
There is case law at various EAT stating that an employer the size of Royal Mail not to make reasonable adjustments is simply unbelievable.
Royal Mail would sooner offer redundancy and settlement than accommodate single duties and lose at tribunal as a cost-effective policy, as a tribunal cannot make Royal Mail give you your job back.
