Good rule of thumb for the union giving updates is to add 4 weeks to any promised deadline for information. If Ward is at all involved then add 8 weeks. And even then it will never be a real update, just 23 paragraphs of self congratulatory word salad that promises another update next week.
It is always next week until the end of time.

To be fair

It will be madness to impose any operational changes with Christmas just around the corner by executive action.

With the CWU the weakest it has ever been would not surprise me though.

When shared van duties were installed in my unit, it was done towards the end of November. Nobody should ever underestimate the idiocy of the people who run this company.

The manual letters and flats side of it in MCs started a few weeks ago. Manual letters and flats get sorted in separate 1C and 2C frames, and into separate trays. 1C trays are a white label, 2C trays are white label with 3 green stripes. All trays then go onto the same york. At the DO it's down to them what they do with them. Different DOs will do things differently, though you'd think that RM would have all DOs operating the same way.

But the question still remains

If the whole business model has been shown to be a total farce with efficiency targets identified in the regional trials,

Why continue with the same transformation agenda?

Probably something to do with stage 1 of thinning out delivery staff levels to the most "efficient" for the business.

Stage 2 will be along the lines of changing deliveries to owner/drivers, getting rid of all managerial positions and staffing MCs with 100% "agency."

Stage 3 the end goal, as we all already know will be selling off all assets then liquidation of RM.

Welcome to late stage Capitalism. :nana

How much thinner could staffing get? Do we continue to pass down throught the depths of staggering inefficiency only to find the universe loops back round on itself to being efficient?
The machine stops.
