The bag avoiders have been holed up for 2 days on a massive jolly sponsored by the members and this is the reporting of the events? As if the CWU hadn't sunk low enough. Absolutely nothing here for workers. Just promises of jam tomorrow. The nearest it came to being informative was when Ward let slip 'it'll go bust'.

Agreed, surely over two full days the CWU discussed more than this waffling with its members? It seems listening to MW that the CWU are only now interested in getting a good deal rise for new starters.tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 17:52The bag avoiders have been holed up for 2 days on a massive jolly sponsored by the members and this is the reporting of the events? The only interesting bit out of that was Martin saying nobody will do a core walk more than 3 days a week under the new USO which I definitely agree with and would maybe make those double mail days less s**t if you are rotating onto a driving route through the week. But this raises the awkward question yet again about non drivers, how are they supposed to avoid doing a core walk more than 3 times a week? Seems impossible.

Two minutes in “we gotta manage expectations”.
I think Martin has forgotten that his role is to represent the members not to manage them.
Or is it?

Was clearly a 2.7% pay rise then inflation increased so they went ohhh god we will just say we are waiting for a better deal and wait for inflation to go down or for ofcom to agree to use reform.

Did anyone catch the bit where mw spoke of the large amount of money being paid out on outdated allowances, I'm assuming driving allowance etc, but he also mentioned £100 of the Christmas bonus.
He then went on to talk about introducing local productivity schemes so I'm hoping they're not planning on removing half the Christmas bonus to go towards funding it.

Can’t beat a bit of scare mongering, it’s what we do best on here.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 19:04Did anyone catch the bit where mw spoke of the large amount of money being paid out on outdated allowances, I'm assuming driving allowance etc, but he also mentioned £100 of the Christmas bonus.

Not sure it's scaremongering just repeating what MW said earlier? Does MW seriously think £5 is going to incentised anybody to go the extra mile?chickenwittle wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 19:29Can’t beat a bit of scare mongering, it’s what we do best on here.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 19:04Did anyone catch the bit where mw spoke of the large amount of money being paid out on outdated allowances, I'm assuming driving allowance etc, but he also mentioned £100 of the Christmas bonus.

An LTB went out as the latest waste of server space was being put out. Martin has put his name to an interrogation of workers where they will have to explain why they do not drive for the industry. Walsh is never happier than when he's throwing workers under the bus. It's like he's so guilty about his betrayal of the working class that he can only placate his guilt by making other people's lives a misery. Schadenfreude I think the Germans call it.toonshola wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 18:17The only interesting bit out of that was Martin saying nobody will do a core walk more than 3 days a week under the new USO which I definitely agree with and would maybe make those double mail days less s**t if you are rotating onto a driving route through the week.
