Paternity leave and bank hols

Post by Leannej3 »

Can anyone clarify for me please?

I'm due to be taking my two weeks over the Chrismas/New Year period, and I'm wondering if I'd get the bank holidays as lieu days, or as an extension on my two weeks or does it depend on your manager?

This is from the ACAS website https://www.acas.org.uk/checking-holida ... -christmas
Bank holidays if you're on sick leave or maternity leave

If they're included in your holiday entitlement, you still build up paid days off for bank holidays while on:

sick leave
maternity, paternity, adoption or shared parental leave
So it appears you're still entitled to them, whether you get them as lieu or an extension is a manager decision by the looks of it, as IIRC you 'have to' take the PL all in one go.
