Christmas Bonus

Why does our Xmas bonus and the underpin payment not increase annually along with our pitiful pay rises?
The way things are going it’ll be worth nothing in a few years.

Off topic: In 1972 the government gave certain benefit recipients a 10 quid, non taxable bonus. I know carers allowance still gives this bonus. It's still 10 quid 50 years later.

Its a good question, although the payments were never a Christmas bonus, think its been £100 suppliment since 2007 , the other was it something to do with a paydeal and the fake shares scheme. they are worth less and less every year.

a cpi inflation calculator thinks £100 would be £171 this year.

While I would never say no to a Christmas bonus, I do think it could at least go up in line with inflation to reflect the value of posties contribution to working through the Christmas pressure.

Even though we got some sort of bonus, which the company probably say they can't afford - would have been nice to have some extra day(s) off, as they actually gave us nothing, but they must get s**t Uber eats leaflets delivered asap.

maybe this is just a tiny thing that separates the good from the bad
when i started, jobs within RM were like rockin'horse'crap but now anyone who can limp and at least see a number can get in,
it's the companies that treat their staff fair that will always beat the likes of RM now no matter what industry
unfortunately they are all becoming the same, short term gain to appease the stock market so those already with can get even more, they know there will be no shortage of staff, quality doesn't even come into their thinking
it will never happen now, but RM will never ever even think of it's employees again, it will be a constant revolving door, hence most are pi55ed off until they retire or quit
quite a legacy for the lib-dems, they had a few years in (part) power and set the ball rolling into destroying this great national institution
