Ill during annual leave....

Hi,

I think i've heard before than if you are ill during annual leave - you get that annual leave back - is this true?

I have been off the past week on annual leave but injured myself earlier in the week. As my injury should just be resolved with rest - I have not gone to the doctors/A&E.....

But as my injury hasn't improved - I will try to see my doctor tomorrow. I am due back to work tomorrow....

If my illness counts from earlier in the week, then do I therefore have to now get signed off by my doctor if I have any days off work next week?

Is it after 5 days of self-certify, then I have to have a doctor's note.

Get a note from your GP backdating it to the original date of your injury. Then you will get the days back.

This is surely simple common sense?

I just didn't know if it was fact that you can get annual leave back if sick during that time. Wouldn't say that's related to common sense. I have never been ill during annual leave at any job in my life so wouldn't know about it unless I had read and memorised the sickness policy.

if you were already ON the sick when your annual leave was due, then it wont be down that you have taken your annual leave, and you will still have that leave to take. if however you were on annual leave when you became unfit to work then that leave wont be reinstated.
