ILL HEALTH INCOME SUPPORT

Was told I had a chance of receiving income support as part of the ill health retirement package as I've been diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis.However because of a cock up with my GP and optima the relevant information wasn't submitted on time and I was only awarded the lump sum retirement.However I've now got the relevant information to submitt for consideration.I have not yet signed anything or received any paper work.My manager is saying its too late to change my mind.

Do you mean taking your pension early or getting government help, which is Employment support allowance. Then there is Personal independence payment if you are disabled in any way.

You get refered to a doctor from royal mail he says if you get ihr with income support

I got Employment support allowance when my SSP run out after 6 months sickness. I had a letter from HR which I forwarded to DWP. It wasn't means tested.

I was awarded ill health retirement but because of my condition I was considered for ill health with income support instead of the lump sum.The income support is the better option.However the information from my GP didn't arrive in time and I was refused.I received it two days later and I want to submitt it but my line manager says its too late.Surely you can submitt additional information. It's not as though I've signed anything.

Is this the option with immediate pension,income support for 3 years and lump sum at the end of the three years?

I am interested in this too and was hoping that a report from my specialist would be enough.

I'm 60 and already receive my age 60 benefit,you can apply to get 65 pension but you lose 5%for every year you take it early.As regards the income support as I understand it you get it permanently until you claim I think your state pension but not as well as a lump sum.

A few guys left our place over 3 years ago on IHR with pension ..I know one of them was 50 at the time and he received full pension with no reduction, a monthly payment of less than half pay for 3 years and a lump sum at the end of the three years of around £39,000 …he was well happy.

Was was given IHR back in May. It’s was the lump sum option I took. Phoned pensions to see if I could get my pension due to being unable to work again. Asked for docs evidence and I now have my age 60 and 65 pension and benefits paid at 49 years old.
