Annual leave

I’ve asked this question before with no definitive answer. So given we have al had our annual leave entitlement deducted due to “unauthorised leave” is this not counter balanced by say working the same number of your rest days during the tax year thereby topping up our accrued annual leave?

overtime isn't calculated in, not even pension pay, just average holiday pay i believe

There doesn’t seem any clarity, holiday is accrued surely by annual hours how those hours are achieved I’m not sure should really matter

Annual leave is based on contracted hours

Where does it state this and what constitutes contracted hours?

I always thought annual leave was calculated on length of service?

Yea but then you still have to be at work to build it up, I just don’t see anywhere where there’s clarity on a week where there’s a strike day but I’ve still worked my contracted 37 hours and even over the year I’ll have worked my contracted hours to (37x46)

Exactly. I’ve not worked less than my contracted hours even on strike weeks because my contracted hours are low (30). So how have they come up with this crap?

I don’t know whether this info clarifies anything but I just checked my annual leave and I did have 20 hours accrued through working my day off etc. Anyways, that is now 15 hours. So they have taken 5 hours off me for striking.

This all got confusing when they changed to hours, I still think of my leave in weeks which I assume a lot will still do? Using hours makes it easier for RM to nit pick with our leave for example reducing it because of strikes, they must have been thinking very far ahead ! I think new starts used to get 4 weeks? Full or parttime?

Me personally though I was already at my maximum 6 weeks so days off etc wouldn’t have taken me beyond that. I’m suggesting they should have topped me back up (almost) after the strike days lowered my accrued leave

How will it work in practice I wonder? If you have a week off are they going to ask you to come in for 3hours one day?
