I`ve been getting driving allowance for 10 years for driving 400`s but there now telling me that I`m not entitled to it can I stop them from doing this anyway.

not sure what a 400 looks like but,
if it is a vehicle with a tachograph then anyone driving it should be governed by the road transport directive (R.T.D.) profesional drivers agreement, introduced in April 07. duty holders changed from O.P.G. to pro driver grade(£400.52 per week) driving allowance ceased.people driving tacho vehicles ad hoc for duty recieve apropriate remuneration dependent on the number of attendances.
if the vehicle is plated under 3.5 ton (3500kg) max weight then the way forward would apply. no driving allowance except for reserved rights drivers(£6)
it could be that you drove an old high top sherpa (3500kg) so way forward driving allowance £26 ish.
and that the sherpa has been replaced recently with say a maxus (2800kg) or large transit. so way forward no driving allowance(except reserved rights(£6).
if this is the case then, as the £26 was a pensionable allowance and changing the vehicle was management led change then you would still receive the alowance for a period of time under MTSF pay protection agreement.
reserve rights(£6) gives all staff who held a driving duty when the way forward was signed six quid a week driving allowance provided that they remain on driving dutys. any one who was driving larger vehicles£26 allowance when the way forward came in and has changes to driving light vans would still receive the £6 resrved rights driving allowance.
