It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Have the CWU considered selling raffle tickets?
Everyone where I work seems obsessed by the daily raffle.
If the CWU could offer a jumper as a prize loads of people would be queuing up to buy a ticket. They just can't get enough of them.

The exodus of members due to the previous sell out agreememnt and new starters on inferior terms and not joining the union must be starting to bite now with revenue.
