parcel force driving?

Post by hughes2468 »

hi all
newbie here.Just a quick question. Can you drive a parcel force vehicle if you are under 21years old with a clean driving license and a parcel force employee? Some people seem to think you need to be over 21 for insurance purposes but some are saying that's just agency? I have tried searching through forum but can't see any thread with the answer.

It's very unlikely that your be able to drive a company vehicle for PF, if you're under 21. Most insurances won't allow this because of low driving experience and the high cost involved.

parcelforce do accept drivers under the age of 25
any person with a full license can work for parcelforce as a driver
the fleet insurance they possess does not have a lower age limit

We've had blokes of 18/19 driving the vans where I work. I'd only had my driving licence for a month when they happily gave me a job sent me off in one. As far as I know they self insure so it's entirely at their own discretion.

Driving the 7.5 ton vans is a whole other story, over 25, tacho cards bla bla bla.

Experience is a help but not essential , your ability to plan a route with a map is far more important (been a PFW driver for 8 years and seen many a Christmas casual come and go but they usually keep hold of the good ones !)

Hi
Full Time permanent contract in parcelforce. I would like to relocate to the driver, I do not have a driving license for LGV. How and where can I ask for a change. Company can help me financially in getting a driving license? I`m 28 year old.

Do you have a standard UK drivers licence?
