Van Parking

Post by doorstepped »

was out earlier this evening in a different town to where I work and saw a collections driver parked on Chevrons 10 foot from a pedestrian crossing and blocking the path!

won't name and shame etc, but this gives us all a bad name and puts other people in danger as school kids had to walk into the road to get past the van.

if the person who did this reads this post, please think about where you could park ( 20 yards up the road and you could have parked in a side road off the path and endangering no-one.

A rather random statement unless we do collections on Motorways. Plus they are different types.

ok so zig zag lines on the side of the road ( normally before crossings ) which are illegal to park on at any time for any vehicle.

Nothing wrong with that, though perhaps the van shouldn't be on the curb.

A bloke at mine always used to park on the zig zag lines by a pelican crossing, while stopping to get his daily fish and chips.

What for a postie is entitled to park on double yellows if he's delivering mail and I doubt they'd worry about the wheel being slightly on the kerb.
