In my office bods who dont want to work christmas pressure put it in writing to the D.O.M. and work there normal hours.Last year about 8 of the guys opted out.

We get given a form in our Mailcentre, you fill it in if you don't want to do it.....I think we should all fill it in and say feck'em

Yes i would agree entirely with the above comments.
To avoid any argument just compose a small letter saying you will not be available for any overtime over the Christmas period,you bastards.
Maybe advisable to leave that last bit out,but have always considered it a much better ending to any letter than any of the standard endings that you don`t really mean!

Any form of overtime is voluntary, not compulsory. O/T is not part of your contract either, it doesn’t state it in your contract.

You only work O/T if you apply for it.

loads of overtime in mc's fair enough for them.
rural/town deliveries here get a lousy 30-40 mins a day with all the extra mail-------xmas pressure---bollox

IN OUR OFFICE DURING THE CHRISTMAS PRESSURE WEEKS SIX POSTIES HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO HAVE ANNUAL LEAVE.
THE SAME HAPPENED LAST YEAR,IS THIS HAPPENING AT ANY OTHER OFFICE?

We were talking about this the other day,as we're on the vans and we leave the office late,we dont wanna be working til 3-4 in the afternoon on the heavy days.
What i would like to do if i could get away with it is,do the ot on the light days and f**k them off on the heavy days.
Piss take yeah..............but f**k 'em.
