Atmosphere and Morale at work.

Hi Folks ...
Just interested to know,what the atmosphere and morale is currently like within your delivery office,or mail centre.
I'm currently off,long term sick.
But have been told that since the Park & Loop revision has been brought in .....
It's terrible ... Nobody knows the new sorting .... Part timers having to be put onto the sorting,etc etc ...
Meanwhile,who suffers ...... Our customers!
Your thoughts and opinions on this one,would be great!

In all honesty our office is fine at the moment.

We've had Walk Sequencing, P&L revision etc - reading a lot of the threads on here though I realise we've been lucky to get a decent revision. 3.5hr walks P&L is just the right amount for a 7hr 48 day.

If the walks are 3.5hr, what is your f/t p/t ratio and what time do you deliver your first letter?
I take it you are on a 39hr week.

Pretty good as we haven't had revision or park and loop start yet! It is still job and finish, ffs

So if your lucky enough to gave a manageable work load why hasn't all of us !? They should have capped all walks at no more than 4hours and then a collection if needed - it's unfair and crazy to expect so much from us 6days a week , computer says - yes - human beings say no !

Morale is through the floor at our D.O and we haven't had our P&L revision yet ! Plenty of B&H and we are to be balloted for I/A over this. I can see a lineo getting a slap soon as the staff are so wound up , which would be a shame for someone to get the boot due to snapping under pressure.

Morale in my office is shockingly bad for a number of reasons,
our 2 female managers are of the "school mistress" type, u half expect when hauled into the office for a warning, to be told to hold out your hands so they can be slapped with a ruler the DOM is devoutly religious, the weakest swear word is highly likely to result in a stage warning, absolutely no horseplay or messing around,
in years gone by, we could have a proper good laugh, we used to have a "twat of the week award" where everyone in my section would vote for who had been the most annoying fecker that week (i actually got awarded "twat of the year") , all that had to stop when those 2 came in.
i don't know the names to half the staff as there are so many part timers and the majority of whom are from abroad, i just don't feel as i have anything in common with them and can't be arsed making any attempt to get to know them.
theres little to be happy about with the job anymore, instead of posties occasionally being able to get an early finish and enjoy the afternoon in the garden, they are out till late afternoon on deliveries which take twice as long as they used to.

The majority of postmen/women at our office are p****d off with the way things are but still try and keep moral up between ourselves and keep a smile on our faces, makes managment wonder what we're up to, and to be honest I think it's them that are feeling the pressure more trying to find folk to do overtime when the rest of us cut off, we still have a couple who come in early but that has gone down over the last few months now that reality is kicking in and realize that working your contracted hours make them feel less tired, and if anyone wants a bit of docket its there for them

Perhaps they stopped it because they should have won hands down but nobody would vote for them?
