2007 The year of the.........

Post by POSTMAN »

.....well who knows what?
We've been cut to the bone,or so we thought over the last few years, and now in time honored fashion the business wants more.
At our place in SE London rumours are it's the nights for the time being,we've only got one 5-15hrs SA.
It's gonna go that's for sure, also with the new sorting machines supposedly coming in soon they'll want more jobs to go,bigger rounds,as the prepping is easier and Less inward sorting.
We're on 3-30hrs now and any bigger would have to have a National agreement which i'm sure we wouldn't vote on.
So no doubt we'll swallow the nights,then.......

So what are they after at your place?

Here they want all night sorters to go, between 8 and 13 walks (geo-route or should that be bosses-route, wants 13) and later starts - as late as 9.00. Imagine starting your walk at 10.30 to 11.00 regularly.

This is strange,i keep hearing bout the geo-route,that hasn't been mentioned at all down here,my rep who is in the know with most things has no idea of it.
We know what it is but it hasn't been mentioned at all.
And htf can you start at 9 ffs,i've heard about 7 but, blimey.
Once again,no mention of later starting times down here, but we're mostly 5-45,6-00 starts anyway.

thats ok here in yeovil they have got rid of nights as from tomorrow 22/01/07, the priority locker over the last few months has absorbed 120 hours, as there is now only 3 people doing the job on a 4 day week rotation.
soon our job will be done by robots including delivery lol
