Well it's here now, officially Xmas pressure has started, not for me though, mine is tomorrow as i'm on my long weekend.
I'm not really looking forward to it,with the Mailsort reduced and there's not so many flats, the packets go through the roof,
as does the letters, cards and sorting.
Not sure what to expect this year as each year is different, but got a feeling it could be the worse one i've done.
My Postman got to me an hour or so later than usual,so things aint looking good so far.
I'll let you know how things are tomorrow.

So how have you been getting on?
You know what to do,say your good bits, say your bad,but most of all,say something.

WTF!!!!!
1st letter 11-30 today
What a nightmare,Council revised Xmas collection booklets for every poxy house,1st class an all.
We had 40 boxes come down to sort on the 8 O'Clock Coach as well, plus packets galore.
Needless to say i cut off at 2-30,only on 1 hours docket.

Other side of the coin,i'm on the easiest walk in the office tomorrow, get in!!!!!!!

Evening all. I finally made it here after numerous prompts. Sorry about the late post but i've not long woken up in the armchair after too much overtime and a couple of lager shandy's.

The Xmas pressure story so far:

Monday - pretty normal but loads of packets/parcels (bloody ebay)
Tuesday - as above
Wednesday - ooh getting scary
Thursday - flippin'eck, where did that lot come from. 1st letter at 09:25 and last letter at 14:10. Going to be a big week for docket (today was supposed to be my rest day) and if my van keeps messing about i'm due for a record week.

All this extra sorting before going on delivery is stopping me from getting home on time for snacks, my house being the last one on my round. Plus everybody wants to stop and talk, the joys of living/working in the sticks.

But worst of all, i'm gonna miss the footie on Saturday because of the early kick off. I missed the Everton game and still owe favours which allowed me to get to the first early game (Pompey i think). Ah the joys of being an Addick as well as a Postie.

Catch ya later.

Anybody else have a real mega mega Friday. Monster or what? It was nearly 3pm when i crawled back to the office. Saturday wasn't as bad as we thought it would be but only because we persuaded the Guv'nor to let us cut off the sorting once it became clear that we were never going to clear. Consequently we're going in for 5 hours of sorting and parcel deliveries on Sunday morning. Easy overtime and i'll still be done in time to watch my son play football at 12:00. I don't even want to think what Monday's delivery will be like.

Talking about football, did you make it to the game Postman. What a disaster! I bet you didn't enjoy finishing off your duty after the game or didn't you bother.

Was a slightly heavier Sat to be fair, would of finished it in 3hrs though.
Stopped at 1/2-11 as i was near my house, quick sandwich and a cuppa, then off to the train station.
The next 90 mins will not be written about on here as i would have to ban myself, and i'm sure i would break the swear filter :evil/mad
Finished off me delivery in about 45 mins after the, well, not sure what to call it.

Apart from thursday it hasn't been too bad down my way, while heavy it's manageable,it's the sorting that's a bloody pain.
We're getting out up to an hour later than usual, and some how we've no extra nights on,just one 5-15hrs duty as normal.
But i'm thinking next week could be the one,not looking forward to it.

Not bad today, quite suprised, had an extra on nights so everything had been sorted when we came in.
The 6.00 coach was normal, only sorted for bout 1/2hr.
Packet Vans were rammo,i had a normal lot.
Out by 1/2-9 done by 1/2-12.
While there's been a lot of work, the weight hasn't been too bad,as it's all cards and hardly any flats.
Day off tomm.
