Who do you inform

Post by Gary55 »

I'm in my sixties and had a gut full. I'm obviously in receipt of my nra 60 pension but do I just need to inform nra65 of my intentions or the cash balance separately not sure if they will be one of the same. Would telling ROYAL MAIL my intentions be enough to trigger receipt of the latest pension we pay into .do i need to inform nr60 and nra65 of my intentions to finish to recieve the supplement C members get until NRA. Also I pay tax on my savings is it worth telling HMRC of my decision as I will obviously earn less this year i think my current tax code is 585L or similar. Thanks for any guidance 🙏

NRA65 – tell the RMPP and they'll tell RMSPS on your behalf(you can do it on their website). The Cash Balance is part of RMPP Age65.
Supplement – tell RMPP and RMSPS.
RMCPP(current scheme) – tell them if you want to take it or wait until 67.
To resign – tell your boss.
HMRC – no need, but your tax liabilities may sort themselves out quicker if you do.

You can fill in an early retirement form with RMPP and they will send you your quote for taking it early which also includes the Cash Balance figures and they will also inform Capita ( RMSPS) who will also send you their quote. Add the two together and that's it. It took about 5 working days for me to recieve the forms from RMPP and about another 10 days from Capita if I remember right. https://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/ ... ment-form/

Tell HRMC as soon as you leave. You can do it on the app.
