Delayed tracked.
I purchased a jumper off of eBay last week. Was dispatched Friday by the seller to an eBay authentication centre. The parcel was scanned at Gatwick MC Saturday morning. Had no scan since (on the RM app) So I asked the guys in work to check their system and it was “rejected by machine” at Chelmsford MC Sunday morning. That is the last information available. Anyone know the process after a parcel has been rejected? Or why this would happen?

Re: Delayed tracked.
This may not be the correct answer but one of my past eBay purchases ended up with the same rejected by machine on the tracking and it turned out that the sender had underpaid the postage and it took about a week to work it's way through the system and turn up at my local do as a surcharge item.

There are different levels of Tracked priority. If your a Nike/Adidas/ASOS/Amazon type customer it will be proceed and delivered quickly. Joe Bloggs sending a tracked that will get there when it gets there.

Re: Delayed tracked.
I had a similar problem once with a eBay item, apparently disappearing off the face of the earth.
I did manage to track it internally and realised that it was repeatedly being rejected by the machine. I made some enquiries and learned that items rejected by the sorting machines obviously need to be manually handled however there simply isn't the staff to handle the rejects manually, so they just get thrown back in the machine enmass in the hope that it might go through second time around.
This process repeats again and again until it either someone miraculously has a few seconds in their day to be able to apply some intelligence to the situation, or a manager gets a bollocking for the number of items getting lost in this black hole loop and is forced to dedicate someone to the task for a shift or two.
