Lump sums to sacrifice everything we have as it stands means nothing if your in the company for a while.

Anybody retiring or planning to leave would certainly jump at the chance at getting a lump sum, but it doesn't make it right for the rest of us.

Given it's a surplus none of us are going to get it until the Trustees decide to pay it out, the way the Labour party are taxing anything I'd have thought the sooner it's paid the better.

If you think governments give out propaganda when they release the budget then you have seen nothing yet.
It will be around 10-12% over 3 years, backdated to April and maybe another £200 lumper to get it voted through. In exchange we will be doing gruelling double/treble mail under the new uso system whilst being pressured through the my performance pda app, in a “supportive” way of course.
And before anyone says the uso is going to change anyway, yes that’s true but the union should be campaigning for deliveries to be reduced by around 40 mins to make this achievable. Instead they are meekly participating in the sham trials before stitching the rest of us up.

So let's get this right. The CWU claims to be a rank and file led union. Therefore, before the CBE and his mates collude about any offer, that should be presented to the rank and file first, not last. The cabal do what they're told not the other way around, as is happening here.

Of course the rank and file should put this right by rejecting whatever tawdry mess the CBE and his bag carriers peddled out. Workers know full well that the offer demands efficiency and productivity in return for less than the are going to have to sell. Its not a mystery. Reject the recommendation of the PEC.
