Quick question: SD 1pm

Is it counted as late if it’s scanned and signed at 1pm not a minute past? Just seconds?

We’ve been told for the past year we don’t even need to do them by 1pm if we think cutting off to do them will cause us to bring stuff back

I don’t think anyone bothers with cutting off to do them now in my unit its just a case of ''it gets there when we get there'' which is sad really

But when they moved the start times to an hour later it was always going to happen so maybe this directive is dependant on how much later your office moved the start times

You pay for a delivery before 1 pm, if it isn't delivered by 1 pm the sender can claim.

1pm unless we are on double packets and then it's just whenever you get there.
I'm sure someone said sender can only claim compensation if it's more than 24hrs late so if it's delivered the same day then so be it.

'Someone' is wrong. It's on Royal Mail's website. Delivery by 1pm or your money back.

Our manager has never told us 9am, don't have to be delivered at 9am, so some of the rural guys have up to a 1 hour round trip, before they finish sorting their round out to start delivery!

It depends on the delivery address there are exceptions see here and scroll down to where it says postcodes and exceptions where it tells you which postcodes aren't guaranteed by 9am

The last time I worked in our SD locker typically there'd be around a dozen 9ams max spread out across all the DOs in the area. RM should move the 9am SDs over to PF.

Now that the new parcel scanning system has been in place for a good few weeks now in MCs, I wonder if RM will move the foreign specials back over to Tracked. Don't know if it was the arrival scan that they weren't getting in DOs or the Ready for Delivery scan

We are told to scan all our undelivered 1 o'clocks at 10 to 1 as No Access to stop the clock then just deliver them as normal

I think at the time it was the same scan that did both as it was before scan to core route started but probably also scanned when delivered especially if a signature was required, typical RM approach to a problem shift it elsewhere rather than curing it properly.

These are the sort of shenanigans the PDA was supposed to eliminate.

In the pre-PDA days the locker would scan all the SDs as delivered on the day, then when the P4550 slips were handed in the following morning suddenly some switched status to 'not delivered'. I think officially you were supposed to call from a payphone out on delivery if you weren't returning to the unit.
