Yes my leftover hours from last year have gone when I just asked last week if you had to use them this year

Takes time to update the carry over apparently. They need to fit 16k more RAM to the ZX81 in the corner of the HR t-bar for it to be done.

I wonder when the call for 100% of carry over hours ain't allowed will be enforced. As soon as they can get rid of the working time laws debt I would imagine

Took a while to update last year too.if they just took it without announcing it there would be uproar.

The response I received from HR was this would be updated and be visible by the middle of the month

But it says (my hours) from 1st April to 31st August 2025 - so do you have to use these hours by then?

Annual Leave Carry Over (C/0) is
now visible for weekly paid
colleagues and will be available for
monthly paid colleagues after the
weekend.


◦ C/O balances will reduce as
leave is booked between 1
April and 31 August.
◦ Where annual leave (A/L) was
already booked to use after 1
April, the c/o will automatically
reduce and the equivalent
leave will be credited to your
entitlement.


Please ensure that c/o leave is used
by 31 Aug, after that date unless
exceptionally approved by your line
manager before 31 Aug the c/o leave
will be lost


If required, your line manager can
provide you a copy of your leave card
- noting that the 'lost carry over
section will reduce as leave is booked
and used before 31 Aug

I work in delivery ,i have 5.5 hrs carried over from last year, as my shortest day of the week is 6hrs 30 mins ,where am I going to get chance to book the 5.5 hrs .may be they let me come in for an hour then go home

The unfortunate fact of a delivery postie job is you cannot take an early finish with this sort of excess of time owed. Any other 'unskilled' job in the country you can just claim it off the end of a shift.

add an hours leave from 25/26 to make a day off perhaps?

They should be showing today, but might not have been adjusted correctly.

Any hours owed should recalculate over the next week, so if you carried over 5 days and spent 5 days in may, they would be spent there, and 5 days refunded to your total for the real leave year (apr 25-mar26).

Yes, carry over in general needs spending by end of August. If you can't spend it, or have an extreme amount to carry over via long term sick etc, you might have a fight, but that'll be union and acas stuff. If you book that time before the end of august, it comes off first, so don't worry.
