About sick pay for new contract injured at work.

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

So today a garage door came off its rails and landed on my back. I opened it all the way and it seemed fine, I bent down to put parcels on the ground and then one side just fell off the rails and landed on my back. I was working as a pair and my partner saw it from the van. Also a neighbour was in the next driveway when it happened.

It was near the end of my shift and I texted my manager and told him. I felt a bit of pain but I just finished off my shift. He said to do an accident report when I got back. I told him all the details which he wrote on a piece of paper.

A few hours later I'm feeling quite a bit worse. I've been working here 10 months, no sick days. My question is how does sick pay work for new contacts in a scenario like this.

I was taught to use garages as a safe place from day one . Every person I've worked with uses garages.

You get SSP as you haven't worked at royal mail a year you shouldn't get a stage for being off as it's a workplace accident make sure you appeal if given one.
