Just wondered people thought on this

Post by enzio1272 »

In my delivery office right now due to a lot of our pda having technical issues,
Some opg are actually taking pda home with them in on their days off.
Does this happen anywhere else ?

Yeah..
But mainly due to most don't work properly and most of the straps are missing so if you find a good one with a strap you want to keep it as you know it will be gone by the time you get in next day.

Assuming their rounds go out when they are off what does the reserve use?

I can't understand why each PDA can't clearly have the duty number shown in order to stop all this nonsense.

No one should be taking a PDA home with them.

RM need to split the app into separate apps, maybe 3 apps: MC, Delivery, DO Indoors

That would be an instant conduct issue in any semi-large DO.

Why does taking the PDA home with you on your day off clear up technical problems. The only way for technical problems to be cleared up is for the thing to be sitting in the cradle every night.
I imagine the real reason people are taking them home is because when they come back from a day off the one they normally use has gone missing. As someone said above what does the Day Off Cover officer use?

Due to so many PDA's going missing my DO a month ago now allocates you the same PDA that you sign in and out.

How could you possibly use the pda next day with a flat battery ?

Hand it in and it charges up overnight.

Just swap the battery for a new one.

It is a large delivery office, over half the pda are not docked in the morning.
But there are loads of batteries charging.

It should be a conduct issue at any office, MC or DO

Agreed. It's absconding with company equipment, same as the when some people have taken a van home on an unauthorised ONR :no no

Same at our DO. We had to fill a sheet out with duty name, duty holder name and the IMEI number for the PDA.

I take the strap off mine at the end of the shift

Some lunatics have taken the strap and bump case off theirs
