Today when collecting my van keys I've now got his huge Securiguard attached to my keys.
It's like a bloody yoyo on steriods.
Now I can't fit the keys in my pocket without them falling out and bloody thing bangs against my knee when driving.
Well done RM for spending £30 on this total tosh.

Not sure which one you have, but in general are they not meant to "help" when carrying a big bunch of keys to take the weight off your pocket etc? However, you have to clip the thing to your belt or hip, or some bit of clothing - presumably on the right-hand side so it's near the ignition barrel of the van - for it to work. You shouldn't be putting the whole thing into a pocket.

Or maybe I have it wrong.

I know it's supposed to clip on your belt, I tried but my jacket sits 6 inches lower than my belt and the thing is bigger than the single van key it's attached to.

Thats what the sheet I was handed said, must be worn at all times and is a conduct issue if caught not using it.

A few of us newer staff at our place occasionally joke that we are going to get ourselves some blue shirts from eBay and all turn up in work with them just to amuse/piss off/whatever the militant types, whom we anticipate might complain to management that we’re not entitled to wear”their” uniform…

You disappoint me smoothy, myself and a few others at our place still wear blue shirts because we prefer them to polos, for me they feel better and I like to keep p739's in the pocket, the closest thing in the current uniform range is the performance or whatever it's called shirt but to me when the weather gets a bit warmer they're like wearing a plastic bag, it'll be a sad day when I've exhausted my stockpile of blue shirts.

I hear you, Ted, and given our amicable interactions on here I wouldn’t want to disappoint or offend you, mate. I’m not fond of the armpits on the red shirts, and I find the coat and fleece both makes my arms sweat.

Let me put it this way: not all people who wear the blue uniform are militant, in fact lots are very decent people and postmen (and postwomen), but by the same token, all rude, belligerent, aggressive interactions us new starters have had with legacy staff, they were all wearing blue shirts. Sorry for the bad analogy.

When were the fabled blue shirts last issued?

I got my last load through in August 2021. It was toward the end of that year management were badgering everyone to put in their pre-orders of the DPD cast-off range.
