CWU Live at 5pm – News Round-Up & Updates

Post by ted_e_bear »

Dear Members,

Join us for this week's episode of CWU Live tonight at 5pm as we dive into a news round-up of key stories that have hit the headlines this week and are sure to be of interest to members across all sectors of the union.

We cover everything from the push back against the Employment Rights Bill to the Křetínský’ takeover. Our guest is CWU political lead, Chloe Koffman, who will be joining us to break down these developments.

Additionally, we’ll hear from Tony Bouch, Postal Outdoor Assistant Secretary. He will speak to us directly from Glasgow, where he has been visiting several Scottish delivery offices that are part of the USO pilot scheme.

Join us at 5pm for the latest, and get involved in the comments. As always, we love hearing from you.

Truly awful and a waste of members money. This CWU live had a pre-recorded interview with Tony Boulch. It was then padded out with clips from media outlets. No wonder no other Union is replacing rank and file organisation with dress up TV. Members should be demanding the sacking of the head of Comms.

Cringe Watch. Political Spokeswoman almost praising up the sale of Royal Mail. Most know he’s in it to asset strip and once the Labour Government are gone or guarantees time out we the workers are toast. Renationalising should be the only agenda but hey ho Labour represent big business now.

like any football club, if u want change u stop going to the stadium, like the cwu, if a lot of us pulled out of our membership, then their would be no cwu, and a save on our weekly wage since they do nothing for us. This overtime ban has a lot of us looking at new jobs now, don't the cwu realise without ur long term members ur nothing, new starts wont be interesting in joining when their wages are pish.

The CWU strategy is to find another source of money to fund their lavish jobs - in other words to be a sweetheart association bankrolled by the employers.

Actually went backwards with the comms which was a low bar anyway. At least Chris Webb seemed to know the ins and outs of Royal Mail when doing videos. Now half the live videos with national officers are spent explaining the job or what a PDA is to that tool who presents it. Absolute waste of members money.

We need trade unions otherwise we will end up like the USA. Look at Amazon and how they work their employees like dogs. Unfortunately over the last 10 years the CWU have proven beyond a doubt that they ain't worth the paper their shitey contract is written on.

From what I watched of it they seem to be promising everything to everyone with this new way of working. Real Land of Milk and Honey stuff.

Agreed, it's almost as if Tony Bulch(?) works for RM, listening to his speel it doesn't seem a concern that in future every day we'll have at least double post, with light Monday's and Tuesday's a thing of the post. Didn't he even claim that most posties are positive about the changes, how can anybody be positive about doubling their present workload just in the hope that they might get more Saturday's off in future?

It's BT2010 all over again. Innovative duty patterns that never materialised (most still on 1-in-6 to this day). P&L was 2 doing the work of 3. This'll be 3 doing the work of 4.
The machine stops.

This Tony Bouch may as well go on RMTV and spin the crap with Ricky Mac and that martin fella.
How have CWU just completely switched on the workers?….that day up London where everyone was together seems like a distant memory unfortunately.

Sad times 😢

Bet he was brought in to 'improve' the CWU optics! I bet he's got a Media Studies degree. Needs to pound the streets for a week or two
then he'd know what was what.

What made me laugh on a previous broadcast was when he was reading out a live tweet/quote from someone who had put
'FFS' on the end and he actually read the letters 'FFS' out. I think he thought it was a TLA for something to do with our work!
