Hi all, just looking for some advice. I slipped and fell on a driveway end of last month, landed fully on my backside, and jarred my back. Took the next day off, then came back in. My back and whatnot seemed to be alright, however, these last couple of days I've had more pain (I think due to doing more packets vs mail in a little trolley).
I messaged my manager earlier today to say that I was having more pain, and have expressed concerns about aggravating my back more this next week - I've been put on a walk I don't know with a non-driver, so I will be responsible for all driving and the large packets. Also, in the nicest possible way, I've been warned that due to who I'll be working with, I'll end up doing 90% of the work.
Is there anything I can do to hopefully get a different walk/alternative duties this next week? Any particular policies I should check out/quote? Also, is there any way to get physio through RM? Waiting lists are pretty bad for NHS physios round here.
For added info, my manager never did an accident form despite me asking several times (once in writing). I ended up having to ask another manager who was covering to sort it (I have asked them for a copy). I was wearing my normal trainers as I didn't have any uniform at the time except for some Hi-Vis, and had also not been informed of any requirement to wear RM shoes.
Thanks in advance!

You could ask to be on light duties, you would be in the office all day doing whatever crap needs to be done...You can argue that going out driving in and out the van won't do your back any good and lifting anything heavy, Inc pouches, would be the same.. If your in the union get your rep involved.. The best thing would go to the docs soon as and get a note excusing you from any lifting etc for a 2 or 3 weeks..
