Would certain people get to permanently work on their own in this new model ?

So if the model is having 3 posties covering duties A,B,C,D, one postie literally does the parcels and 1C over A&B then C&D whilst the other two posties flip between the duties doing all mail then surely most people would jump at the chance of working alone rather than doing double mail with a partner with a heavy bag on your back, unless this 3 posties pairing would need to take turns to do the parcels and 1C!

Suppose it depends what people want. I would guess if you end up on one of the van routes doing 1st class and parcels you would end up working more Saturdays than those doing the double mail routes as second class isn’t going out on the Saturday. Speaking for myself I will prefer to work Saturdays as it’s handy having a day off during the week having young kids, whereas others will jump at the chance of having more Saturdays off.
To be honest a lot of the plans put out on this so far seem half baked and May change as the pilot/trials progress.
There’s been no real info released about what shift patterns might look like, what’s gunna happen with non drivers on Saturdays etc etc.
Presumably these changes will require a re-pick in every delivery office but again there’s been no confirmation of this. Basically we are all guessing at this point.

Unless there's only 4 duties in the office then no. The modelling so far has not covered full duty sets. Have a go at modelling your own and see the effect. Remember to keep singleton duties out of it such as the rurals or firms.
