Annual Leave issues !!!!!
Made book annual leave in rotation. I'm 5th in line to book. So don't get even close to what I want. Most weeks are booked by time I get to choose. Especially since some get 6 weeks off. Is this done in other offices??

What is this wall of text? If your COMs is deciding annual leave by seniority then you all need to speak to your area rep.Team123 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2025, 13:15About a .month ago my manager asked us to fill in annual leave requests up to March 2026. He stated this had to be taken as 2 weeks together, 2 weeks apart and a further 2 weeks then. This was done on a rotation system so I was 5th in line in my office to get a choice and then pass the form on meaning I could only pick my 2 weeks together initially from what was left after 4 in front chose and then again 5th to choose 2 weeks apart. This obviously means we don't get the weeks we want most of the time. It's an unfair system, should be first come first served but apparently it's how they've always done it. Also no random day requests accepted or weekends etc has to be the week. Its bull really and how can ya plan until March 2026 in this way. Bad management. Anyway after doing this ive now been told i have to remove 2 weeks as im only entitled to 4 weeks. I work full time over 5 days, and others who work a few more hours but also over 5 days have 6 weeks despite only joining in September. Just want to know, does this happen anywhere else?? Or can I do anything about it. The hours are s**t as is with no weekends etc and now can't even choose the leave I want.

I have asked others to go woth me but they are happy with how it's done. Also apparently you have to pay for further weeks off surely this isn't right either.

Never said I hated seniority. I understand managers set rules but giving certain staff priority is not right in my eyes. What happened to work equality. Also this is the UK not USA so your point is moot.

Re: Annual Leave issues !!!!!
Those who pay for it will be fully aware that they are paying for it.
Any employee with less than 20 years service is allowed to purchase extra time off, up to the maximum of 6 weeks, through a small deduction on each pay period throughout the year.
It is effectively unpaid leave, but barely noticeable as such due to the spread of the pay deductions
The window to purchase annual leave above your entitlement will be opening soon, if not already. And closes sometime in February
