Hi all.
Just here look to gauge feedback from others.
I'm currently off work (post surgery recovery). Long story short, I made work aware In August 2022 that I discovered a lump, and will need surgery at some point.
December 2023 the GP signed me off for 4 weeks, with regards to the lump, as it was getting bigger and bigger as the months passed by. I was in a lot of discomfort.
Feeling guilty I RTW after 2 weeks rest, and was put on a stage 1. During my meeting I made it clear that I am still on the waiting list for surgery, and when that day comes, I'm going to be off for a few weeks to recover.
Then in February 2024 I went to work as normal, feeling a bit iffy. Asked to go home, and did 2 COVID tests, which we positive. Stayed off work until I tested negative. This would be an 2nd absence, which I accept.
Mid November 2024 I go in for surgery, with regards to my long term medical condition, I made work aware of back in August 2022. During The first week I was off for post surgery recovery, I lost most of my wages due to the new sickness policy.
I discussed with Manager, stating they can submit a exception request, so I'd receive full sick pay. Manager said it's out of their hands, and I was to contact HR, which I did. HR replied back saying Manager needs to submit a sick pay exception form.
Manager finally submitted the form, but now the payroll department have denied the request.
I am physically off work, post surgery recovery. At this moment In time, I am not fit for work.
Is there anything I can do, to try and fight my case? As I have literally lost over £325 in wages for the 1st week I've been off, and I really feel penalised for something that's out of my control.
Cheers all

Re: ROSP Exception request denied by payroll
I’d say you’re being penalised for all the people who used to take the 2 weeks sick leave each year as additional annual leave. Get a definitive answer from you manager, I’d hate to believe this is where we now stand with sick leave

Get in touch with your area rep and submit all your evidence to them. You should also put a grievance in against said managerL22eew wrote: ↑02 Dec 2024, 17:34Hi all.
