Wondering about new contracts. Are you meant to get full pay of your hours for holidays? I've took a week off on a 20 hour contract and my pay doesn't add up for it. Is it 20 hours × my hourly rate or how does it work?

Not sure exactly what you are getting at here. New contracts are paid monthly, so you will get 20 hours at your pay rate, times 52, divided by twelve (plus a quarter of a day to include each leap year) and you will get that same amount every month no matter if you work every scheduled working day or if you have any days AL in that month.
Holiday pay is for people who regularly work OT. If you have done at least 8 hours OT a month for the previous continuous 6 months before you take some leave you will get some holiday pay. That pay will be the average OT you worked over the previous six months times the amount of hours of holiday you have taken.
I.e if you did 40 hours OT every month over the last six months and then took a week off you would be entitled to roughly 10 hours holiday pay (in addition to your normal monthly wage). This is of course very simplified as normally your OT would vary a lot (you take the average over the six months) and you get different rates of holiday pay if you ever work more than 40 hours (over 20 hours OT) in a week and got paid at the 1.25% rate within that six months.

Do you have any idea roughly how much overtime holiday pay I would get for one day (8 hours) leave? TIA

Prob about £150 (obviously that is before tax, ni and pension)

I take it you're on a one day or something attendance can't they offer you a permanent job, or does it suit you to stay as you are ?

I'm contracted every Sunday, which works for me as I'm at university 3/4 days a week. I did 250 hours of overtime over the summer break then the occasional overtime during term time, but obviously can't commit to more hours during term time so it suits me.

Ah I see, as mentioned above the requirement to qualify is 8 hours per month in the 6 months period prior to you holiday so I hope you managed that during term time as it would be a real shame otherwise with the amount you put in over summer.

Yes luckily I am, averaging 4/5 days overtime a month alongside university
