Service improvement

Post by Steny »

Hello,

With all the mess we sometimes have to deal with complaints, delays, or just to pass on news, don't you think Royal Mail should use social networks more effectively? Like, not just to throw out automated messages, but to really interact, respond to customers live, and why not even give real-time updates on deliveries?
I've seen some companies use Twitter extensively for comm' and it seems to work pretty well. Wouldn't this be a good way for us to avoid the stress of having to wait for customers to find out the status of their parcel?

What real time updates can they give?

"Your Postie is currently chasing his tail two miles away, he had to break off to deliver his specials and several customer collections. We're not sure if the customers in question are out of bed yet. Rest assured, your Postie will be with you asap. Well, maybe not if he/she will not go over their contracted hours. '

Live tweets of what duties or loops have been left in that day so that the tracked items can get cleared perhaps?

Probably wouldnt be hard to sort out real time tracking for parcels but that would just put us under more pressure when we called off for specials or cant finish rounds. I dont even think customers want it. They just want reliable deliverys

RM doesn't, or claims not to, have the money to pay someone to do that. Which, of course, then raises the spectre of having an 'artificial intelligence' fulfill this role - a disaster in the making, not least because it doesn't exist. Besides, we have 8 billion naturally intelligent beings on the planet but they have the temerity to refuse to work for nothing. And round we go.
The machine stops.

They want a real time tracker. 'watch your local posties progress in real time!' :left: hopefully we get body cameras soon, upper management probably need a fresh laugh.
I will leave mine on when I go to the bog lol

Essential to not just highlight the clear issue but pinpoint precisely where the blame lies :thumbup

Oh s**t yes. Missed the most important word. Had a lady sarcastically remarking yesterday about seeing a postman. I thought f**k off, I work hard everyday, I don't need sarcasm because the company is ran by bell ends.
