Annual Leave disgraceful treatment.
We have just come through the hectic election material and have today been hit with a double whammy. They have decided that we need to save hours and are getting rid of the DPR routes and are giving all the oversized parcels to the delivery staff.
That was the first kick in the teeth but to follow that we have been told that due to a glitch in the computer system over the years dating back as far as 2015,that we all owe them annual leave back due to an error on the system. The line managers then came round with a list telling everyone how many days they owe the company back. This varied from 1 day,7 days and the worst one was six weeks. You can imagine the pure anger and obviously the union are involved but I just wandered if any other office have been told the same?

How is it possible to take six weeks too much leave?
Is the 1-7 days related to the strike? Apparently when we were striking we weren't earning leave.

You need to fight back, bring in the union. A little leave lost to unpaid leave and strikes is understandable, but 6 weeks is insane.

Yes some people were told that they owe some days back due to the strike.

Do you have a rest week system? Sounds like the wrong amount of hours has been booked/taken

Can't believe the company is asking for annual leave back from several years ago. Guys & girls in our office have been told to put in for (excess, carried over days) annual leave or they lose out.
Thankfully the big parcels haven't been put back on some of the shifts yet, but to be honest some of them are having an easy time.

9 years ago? What about all the staff that have come/gone/retired in that time? I would expect the union to put up a robust challenge to this, legally especially they should be all over this.
I for one would challenge it all day long, "Horizon" shows that this company doesn't have a good record regarding technology and who's to say this is yet another glitch that isn't really a glitch just poor cheap tec.
Christ they never cease to amaze me.

Yes that is spot on.What are they going to do?Are they going to go to try to get the money back off the people who have left since 2015 or what about the ones who have passed away are they going to ask the poor widows for money back?scotchy1962 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024, 05:249 years ago? We’ve been told the same thing about the DPR routes but they haven’t tried to implement it yet.

Those who've been asked for a substantial amount to be repaid should ask for an itemised breakdown showing hours, dates, etc. and get the union involved.
This sort of calculation can't be left to office workers to announce without some form of evidence or scrutiny.
