Letter and Frame preperation in the mornings.

Post by spicebot99 »

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could desperately help me.

My union rep showed me a document written by Royal Mail on what the procedure should be if you believe you can not get round and complete your delivery.

It states something along the lines of "you should prepare your frame with the days work and then approach your manager if you are unable to get around so a solution can be found."

but for the life of me I cannot find this document online anywhere!!!!! Does someone know which document this would be found in? I am unable to get a hold of my rep at the moment and am desperate for the document so that I can formally cite it in an argument. Any help would be much appreciated.

Don’t know about the document but the company is a complete s**t show so don’t worry, hardly anyone in the country are completing duties. You just need to tell the manager before you leave that you won’t complete and ask him what he’d like you to do about it . He will more than likely ask you to prioritise tracked , specials and collections. You then do the same tomorrow and the day after, this is the Royal Mail way now I’m afraid.

Pretty sure it's called the overrunning delivery procedure, I've had a search on here and found this which I think is the right document

Thank you ! I'm gonna have a read of it now. Honestly the name of the document escapes me but I know it exists.

Thank you. Honestly yes their whole system is a puzzle for the mind. So many contradicting statements and they pick and choose which they wanna apply and where. I'm just having a disagreement with management over when I am meant to let them know I will fail. I thought I was following procedure but they're arguing I'm not. I'm just looking for something formal to show them and prove my point.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

If you think you can't complete just say I'm Gona take all of it out ,but you may struggle to complete make sure someone is there to back you up.cause some managers will play the fool. If they say prioritise the tracked do it and then if the letters still keep on coming back or left in frame and your union rep doesn't do anything about it cause they're pals with the manager then say ok I'll speak to someone higher up. They may do something then. ,but that way your trying t keep the problem in the office

There are a lot of terrible managers who are making it up as they go along.

You have to let them know as soon as it becomes apparent you can't complete.

I did that when I first started and was struggling. I was told it was too early to tell. Next time I waited a bit longer and was told it was too late to do anything about it. :so there

When they added the extra to my walk it was obvious straight away that it was too long to complete by a human. This was pointed out numerous times, nothing changed, started leaving sections, nothing changed, decided to bring back bundles nothing changed, so now I complete by working over some days and some days I don’t. I’ve given up informing my manager about what I might do that day.

Me too. I just do what I want that day, sometimes over sometimes not, rotate the mail, manage the frame over a week. Never have any conversations with managers.

Think it's pretty much excpected these days.

Time was you'd bring 1 letter back and get conducted.
