Royal Mail intend to send a letter to all staff impacted by network window change from 19th February to advise of change of contractual start times in June 2024. This follows from months of discussions at regional and local level.
As of today there is no agreement in Scotland, London, South East, North East or London. It remains the view of the Divisional Reps that any change in DO's beyond 60 minutes in not acceptable.
There is to be a meeting between RM, our National Officers and us in the next week when we will maintain our position and report back.

So we can take it that all of those areas are looking at over an hour. Our rumoured figure is 75 minutes. So much for their 15 minutes !!!

So the CWU posted an update saying most DO’s will only be moved a maximum 15min without agreement in all the areas above, am I reading that right?

The agreement was up to 90mins... the agreement was voted in favour. Not thrilled myself about later starts but I can't see what the CWU can do about it now.

No they didn’t say most , they said a few hundred would be up to 15 mins later at worst.

Scotland is unquie and will face the most significant challenges in the UK with the new network review and it's no suprise the local JWG's or regional steering groups are proving difficult.

With planes removed and more mail moving by rail, road and boat as well as having the Super Hubs in the south feeding a predominantly rual community as far north as the isles is no easy task.

Take into account a new resourcing model in the MC to align with network arrivals, changes to SDC distribution, MC loading plans, travelling at busier times of the day, collection reviews, local distribution hubs you get to see the picture.

The CWU will try to mitigate start times as much as possible and national challenges are going on as we speak but expectations need to be tailored as not all is in Scotlands control.

Some area's will be better served as closer to a mail centre others further away obviously later.

There is an awful lot going on at the moment and patience is needed for the division to work through.

Lastly, of course no one wants to move start times and 6O mins or less is the goal but i hope you all understand the complexities in all this. Not all will be happy and that includes your senior officials ( of course working within the parameters of the agreement) on your behalf.
