Door to Door
Has anyone got a link or able to point me to the right place where it states the correct way to do D2D.
I, like others thought you were meant to fill the frame up early in the week and warm call whereas our rep insists we do a column a day only and clear that column even if it means walking up 500 foot paths with only a pizza leaflet in hand. He does his that way and insists he is doing it correctly and therefore we should all follow suit.

Re: Door to Door
In ours you can do them any way you see fit as long as they are gone by the end of the week.

Re: Door to Door
We only warm call ours and hadn't gone back to clearing each week since covid. If/when it gets to 3 or 4 weeks worth, I clear them through the week

Re: Door to Door
the original agreement for unaddressed mail was that it would be delivered in loops which is why you'll see the coloured number on the end of the frame labels. in that agreement the unaddressed mail was to be thrown off last after everything else. that's the agreement. as with all agreements it's been changed by without agreement ever since. ultimately its a case of acting as directed. what ever the employer tells you to do with the unaddressed mail simply do. ask your gaffer what they want you to do.

2,600 addresses? 3 contracts, we'd be prepping until our finish time!

Re: Door to Door
you are supposed to do 20% a day and sign your name on a given sheet declaring you have indeed delivered that days worth of door to doors

Re: Door to Door
Post revision the correct procedure is to prep them all in on Monday and warm call during the week to minimise cold calling.dazzler123 wrote: ↑26 Jan 2024, 18:52you are supposed to do 20% a day and sign your name on a given sheet declaring you have indeed delivered that days worth of door to doors
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Door to Door
There is no official correct way although doing a column a day was the way in our office.
There is guidance but its constantly conflicting info. But essentially get them done by the end of the week.
Me & duty partner warm call. Even take it into the following week(s) unless its got a date on it.
This week our manager said do them by end of week. She also said there isnt time to prep them all on Monday.

Re: Door to Door
Our office warm calls D2D's but when it comes to prep, there is no rule of when you do them, as long as they are done that week. There's only me and my duty partner that clears the frame of all D2D's every week, everyone else just carries them over to the following weeks, till those addresses eventually get mail.

Re: Door to Door
Ours just get done whenever, rolled over for weeks just sitting in the frame for those addresses that never get any mail. Have your day off and there’s about a 5% chance they will be done on that day, on the rare chance they are then they are always sporadically warm called which is a nightmare on double slots as often one is left with no number on it in slot so it’s a lottery. Have a week or 2 off and you will come back to boxes of the s**t left at your frame with the cover guys swearing blind they did them and those left are spare, even though the other 46 weeks when you cover it there are never any “spare”. Basically it’s a bloody mess. Dont understand how d2ds are gonna get done if the uso gets reduced to 5 or 3 days?!

Re: Door to Door
Yeah that double slot routine sounds familiar when someone else can't be arsed to write the number on, some of our duties have flats on them with a bank of mail boxes at the entrance and the lazy f***ers don't even bother doing them with the d2ds from double slots.

Re: Door to Door
ours is a "just disappear" action and been for a few years, apparently it's a cwu agreed deal that when on leave for a week or 2 we must still get rid,
a frame last week found some due aug22
