Final Pay screw up

Post by Sazz57 »

Hey guys .... Here goes

I went off on sic 4th Dec (fractured spine) returned just after Xmas and my last day is tomorrow....

My last week's notice was annual leave. I asked if this was allowed had I enough accrued etc and was told by manager yes.

I rang up to ask about if we got paid anything for seasonal variance as obv I won't be here for short days but have been for long ones.

Payroll told me to get the manager to calculate it and send it through... Never mentioned annual leave as I didn't think I had anything to query.

Stand in manager (ours is on hol) reckons I owe holiday.... But was hazy on the amount.... Approx 20 hours worst case scenario he thinks ... And just kind of dismissed the seasonal variance...

I am in the union, our rep is on hol and I have no number for Julien who's the next step up.

I have a feeling I'm gonna get screwed over ... Any advice??

As your last day is tomorrow you should still have access to the people app, I'd screenshot your leave, plus anything else you might need as you lose access, it's now 3 months to the end of the leave year it should be easy to work out a rough idea of any owed whichever way as it's 75% of the way through the leave year so for example it you've used your full allowance then you would owe them, as far as the seasonal variation is concerned though surely hr can calculate it, why can't they it's ridiculous.

Why would you give notice if you fractured your spine I would not be doing so in any haste even if I was not given sick pay. As you say they may have screwed up but once you have left it is very difficult to sort out.
