Royal mail is killing its work force...

Post by roadrunner bill »

I really think the world.. is coming to an end....

The planet is not the same as it was 30 years ago...
Or 3 thousand years ago....

Or even 100 million yeas ago...

It seems the species.. is obsessed with their own gain.. and wealth.. and not the bigger picture....

The Greek mathmatian.. Archimedes.. wrote.... the world would be a better place without greed and power....

The love of money is the root of all evil - that’s for sure. And the world population has doubled since I was a kid. Completely unsustainable. Maybe we should quit working and go on the soch? Then wait for the world to die.

Every single thing that benefits the working class is being eroded to the point where yes you really do have to question why we bother with work. Every time you think you’re making a stride forward, the rug gets pulled and touch wood I NEVER get sick, no sick pay so can’t take off to see a doctor and even if I could get off it would take a fortnight just to get a face to face with one. Cut your cloth, aim for a 3 day working week and get off the hamster wheel, grow some veg turn off the tv stop being slave

That's why people are leaving in droves. Get out of this company while you still can or hold out for retirement. It ain't getting any better any time soon...

It’s not even just this job though. Anywhere you go unless it’s to work for yourself is going to just be a variation of the same theme only on worse pay and worse terms and conditions. Get your ducks in a row and have the job March to your own beat.

Was once a 2.5 hr delivery now 5 hr plus….
Now I’m double the age and have double the workload…
Yes,the job is killing the oldies with retirement pending…
Job retention on new contracts are bleak with the hourly pay not far off minimum wage…
So experience staff will retire early and the Newbie’s will not stay which only leads to Gig economy of self employed drivers…

Life for a millennia has been bloody hard.
We are now learning that lesson.

On the original question God/Mother Nature will usually intervene

It won’t be pretty.

Thread after thread of moaning, you didn't see this coming when you voted?

There's plenty of moaning but I'm not sure that the vote either way would make much difference. A bit like it doesn't when you vote Labour or Tory. It's the whole system that's rigged, RM is just a small part of the whole f****d up capitalist globalist planet. You who will own nothing and be happy.

If we'd voted No the changes would have still been imposed, most likely even worse ones to try and teach us a lesson, and we'd have no pay rise like Fleet.

The union never used 96% strike mandate
Every member was united, the picket lines, the London demonstration galvanised workers and brought posties together.
But ward & furey bottled it,as soon as RM threatened to defund release of reps and stop use of payroll for subscriptions.
They decided self preservation was only option & waved white flag 🏳️ allowing those greedy RM hierarchy to destroy this once great company.

Sad times 🥲

Like a technical mishap postponing an execution for five minutes, we'll see how that works out for the union when no new starts are joining. As dead-end as things have become, who needs collectively-bargained job security in a job you have no intention of sticking beyond a couple of years at most?
The machine stops.

There is absolutely no way to no that.

It`s the only reason I`m still here.
