Wages down this week anyone else?

Quicky people.

I was checking my bank and I noticed my wages were down by just over £20 so I checked my payslip online and my national insurance contributions have increased by that amount

I've no idea why as my pay is the same as any other week, any ideas?

I took a pound (basic) less than the previous week.

My pay is usually 20p down one week, then 40p up the next. Instead of just paying me median.

I then get a £23 tax rebate every year for at least 5 years.

Thanks for the replies, seems a bit strange to go from £23ish to over £40 in 1 Week then, I'll query it with HR as its never been that (apart from when there's been a big increase for the week ie blood money etc!)
