vacancies
Lot of jobs going with the new contract , the union have let the lads down, u should be able to transfer over to another depot without being subjected to one of these horrendous new contracts, union should be on top of that, plus u probably lose ur service when u transfer over as well to these new contracts

Re: vacancies
Is it true the new contracts do not include a paid break?

Re: vacancies
We're on the road to ruin now. We may have saved our jobs for few more years but part of me thinks we should have been on strike indefinitely to bring this down. The union have proved they're not prepared to do that so all clout is definitely gone now.

Re: vacancies
Going on strike indefinitley would not have got much support.

Re: vacancies
There's no support for longevity during the current situation. Imagine doing this for 20/30 years. You need to be a conditioned athlete otherwise your out the door on performance basis.aiden01 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023, 16:16Going on strike indefinitley would not have got much support.

Re: vacancies
I've been doing the job for 10 years and I am absolutely knackered. The walks are bigger and take longer and because the mail doesn't go out on some days DOUBLE even TRIPLE mail means the bundles are heavier! It's madness! The job is really being aimed at younger, fitter people, and I wonder if that's discriminatory. Older people are being pushed out of the job because it's become too hard for them. Is that not discriminatory??

Use a trolley. Only take out what you think you can complete, always erring on the side of caution. Brand new starter handed in his notice yesterday. He’d been molly coddled for 10 days, the duty he is on (my duty) is in a real mess.
