There is an old postwomen in my office. She doesn’t like driving through where there are cameras/police cameras. So she goes a different route to avoid the cameras. Mind you she is not stopping or anything. Just drives straight to her walk.
A union rep once said the managers can’t force you to drive through a certain route.
Is this true ???

What about those thousands of cameras attached to people's front doors!
On an related/unrelated note, there's never been so much surveillance and cameras in this country and all the developed nations. Have the crime rates reduced because of this or have conviction rates increased?

You never said if it takes longer to get to her duty going the other way.If it's longer then he may have a point but if it takes the same time then I'd be happy to argue my case if it was me.

Not speeding - no worries. Sounds strange, must have other reasons. If we can't take photos using PDA - why can they film us on the doorstep ? Would have thought you'd drive the quickest way to your round, why bother messing around.

Of course you can be told which route to take to your delivery, otherwise I would go the 3hr scenic route and bring back most of my delivery.
It's a job not a hobby, we don't get to make up the rules as we go along.
You mostly do what your instructed to do as long as it's safe and you're trained to do it.

Travelling to your round depends on where the specials are plus other reasons to make my job easier.
No good starting at your start of your round if the specials are at the end , so I do it in reverse.
Other times I do the loops where the most of the large parcels are 1st to empty the van a bit.
What does it matter ?
