Do you alter your route in hot weather?

We work in a hilly area (my phone said on Saturday 123 flights climbed, a flight being 3 meters elevation)

Some rounds I work on alter there route so they get the steeper loops with the most steps on out of the way in the morning when it’s cooler

Some rounds it’s not possible to do that on I realise

Is this common practice in most offices?

Will this be an issue for the parcel delivery given time windows and can we get in trouble for doing this?

Nope. Same way each day. Weather don’t bother me mate. Jus carry frozen water bottles. U should be fine

We do ours according to where the Specials are in case we can’t get there by one.

Presume by the parcel delivery time windows you mean for the trackeds, I wouldn't worry about that, the specials of course must be attempted by 1pm but don't forget if it's a redelivery day 2 then you don't have to get there before 1.

The weather itself doesn't factor in when it comes to my loop order. Specials and double mail do: If I've double mail and specials don't f**k it up, I'll try to get those s**t loops out the way early (loops 3-5, out of 12, say.) if I can. specials might dictate I do the back half of the job backwards (Or do a fly-by, drop the specials as I go to do the job in reverse).

On my job, there isn't going to be a meaningful difference in sun strength versus where you are at the time. There is f**k all shade at 1000-1400, full-stop. Might make an extra stop at the airconditioned shop that is roughly central though, on truly insane days.

I change it most days depending on things like, if I pop for a toilet stop (which is geographically past my final loop) I'll start working backwards specials, where I manage to park my van, and sometimes just because I feel like it.

what about the daily cut off or are one of these that comes in 2 hours early unpaid and no break?

If we work as a 2 in a van share, then we do the round in a certain way.

However if I have a day on my own, then I prefer to do the round backwards, and I sometimes adjust the van parking and put in a smaller extra loop.

The sun is directly above us now, so not much chance of walking in the shade unless I only deliver to the northern side of streets while hugging the walls like Solid Snake. Maybe if we relentlessly discuss minute changes to our skin with management the company will finally put the finish time back to noon.

I haven’t really needed to jig this weeks route much because it works ok, but in weeks where I’ve noticed certain streets get very hot letter boxes (because of the way they’re facing) I have prioritised them.

This weeks block of flats is at the end anyway - but had it not been I’d have probably worked it that way given that’s fully under cover.

I probably amend delivery routes more when it’s rain / snow and to take into account traffic issues (temporary lights for example).

And of course when it gets darker earlier in the afternoon during the winter, I always consider what street might be bettter to do in low light.

No, I got told we have to do the round as per the frame as recipients are given a time window as to when their parcel will be delivered.

The time frame is so big it shouldn't really matter what order you do them in.

We alter our round every day. Each day we start the loop after we finished the day before. Due to the unrealistic revision we cannot complete.
