PARCEL COLLECT ENHANCEMENTS – Accepting additional un-booked items on the day – removal of the cap.

In November 22 we enhanced the Parcel Collect service to allow customers who had a pre-existing collection to also hand over up to 5 additional un-booked items on the day.

Since the launch of this latest enhancement to the Parcel Collect service our customers have handed over 157,000 additional un-booked items, and they have told us they really like this service.

Our customers really liked the ability to hand over more items, so to allow them to take advantage of this service even more, we are going to remove the cap in the coming weeks. However, the collection can still not exceed 50 items including the items that have been booked.

Please ensure you scan all the items at the doorstep including the additional un-booked items before you submit the job.

Once you have scanned the booked item,don't press "submit", just carry on scanning, and any other extra parcel will automatically appear below as "Additional item".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they have not removed the cap. There is a cap of 50. They've increased it, but that's not removing it.

So if they can be unbooked how do you know how many parcels you are collecting before you turn up? PDA says one small parcel to collect so think can be collected as you do the loop, and dont need the van/driver and then when you turn up the customer can have up to 50 more to give you without any warning?!

We won't at our place, I found out by accident, as mentioned above when a customer presented me with an item with a different barcode on to the one it was supposed to be, had to cancel the original and accept the additional one.

Tbh that's the only training you'll need, although as I said above our comdom won't even mention it just like the recent can't leave trackeds safe/neighbours f**k up he said he knew nothing about it.
