Any case for fighting this?
Sent out in royal mail van, not had my driving assessment done or anything, accidentally drive through a bus lane and meant to pay £35 for it

Any case to say I shouldn't have been allowed out and it's not my responsibility or anything along those lines?

If you signed the van out,then its your responsibility.
Inc speeding,parking and bus lane fines.
Not sure why they would send you put in a van without doing a change over.
But once you signed out the van then your responsible for the van.

You were driving, that makes you legally responsible for the vehicle. Any consequences are yours and yours alone.

Regardless of doing the assessment or not you still drove in the bus lane. You're at fault regardless. Pay the £35 and put it down as lesson learnt.

Don’t know the situation but why did u go out on a rm van if u where not trained to, if u had a accident they would have probably have sacked u, they would have said it was your fault because you should have said no when they asked u to drive.

You know the rules of the road if you have passed a driving test? Doesn't matter if it's in a RM van or private car it's down to you to drive appropriately so you will get no help paying it.

Try contesting it, say you was working, delivering mail in a marked Royal Mail van, which is clearly shown on the photo. Worked for me when I got a fine for doing the same.

Driving in a bus lane is illegal unless you're otherwise told by road signage.

You may use a bus lane to stop, unload or for access, unless road signage says otherwise.

You could even get pulled over by a traffic officer for not driving in a bus lane when it's inactive

I know this is gonna sound harsh, but come on...you don't need Royal Mail training to know better.

You're responsible.

In ten years of driving vans I never had a driving assessment done or anything similar but respected the Road Traffic Act.
