Overtime ban?

Post by postmanzach »

Manager claiming he’s been told he can’t pay overtime for going over delivery time today.
3 days mail..
This happening nationally?
Is it worth ringing HR?

We haven't been allowed to book any extended delivery since the first day of industrial action.
Apparently they don't want to pay us to clear the backlog caused by striking.
Apart from today.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It was made quite clear in a handout I read weeks ago that there would be no additional OT hours made available to clear any backlog that is caused by strikes.

The OT people are doing currently is what the company consider "normal". The abnormal OT ie clearing backlogs, at least at my DO, is fulfilled by casuals who come in on the day(s) following a strike.. usually to take lapsed walk(s) out.

Funny how different offices operate.

O/t available to clear your duty or to do parts of others walks.

o/t to do ips after your duty as we had 6 yorks of trays still to do when the manager called time.

o/t to do parcels as there are plenty to go round.

Different story at our place, managers calling round seeing if people would work their day off to clear, no limit to extension ot but stopped short of asking part time staff to come in early to prep. Office was still a mess when I got back :Very Happy

Yeah it’s cool manager said this as didn’t want people taking the piss I think booking loads, but I told him I was going over and booking it. If I don’t get paid for working il ring hR and take week off due to the stress.
