Seniority when off long term sick

I've a question about seniority.

I have been told that if you take a career break that your seniority is effectively paused whilst you are on the career break.
What happens if you are off sick for a considerable length of time?

I assume that as you still get a payslip each week will initially the reduced pay and then eventually zero your seniority is not "paused" as you are still employed but just signed off.

Is that correct?

Yes that's correct according to the way forward agreement only a career break will pause seniority.

There was a clip of Dave Ward on the CWU Twitter page that said at the last meeting Thompson gave them a letter about all of the agreements that the Royal Mail would be serving them notice on without naming which.

I presumed serving notice on them means they're no longer going to recognise or abide by things in those agreements any longer? Or have I misunderstood?

I don't mean they should look at it, I just meant that hypothetically if the agreement was among those served notice on & no longer being abided by then any guidelines, rules or procedures that are included in said agreement couldn't be trusted.. for the time being anyway.

I've probably misunderstood, nevermind me.
