Resigns

Post by brian »

If or when the later start times come does this mean an office resign as they are making changes to all duties ?.
How do offices already on a later start get people to do the inside duties.
Makes buying a season ticket for football a problem as we dont know if we will be finished in time to go.

Good on yer, dhino 1. :Applause

Enjoy your holiday , and I think you're right about not sending any postcards, they could end up
in the hands of a screw, who'll no doubt screw up, and your cards could end up just about anywhere ! :d'oh!

The thing is,it's a bit off aint it.
How many years have we been starting at the times we do now,our whole lives are now lived around it.
Now all of a sudden you have to change everything.
I'm guessing although it won't affect me so much that loads up and down the country would be screwed.
Half an hour or so maybe won't be too bad but some places are talking 2-3 hrs difference!!

Resigning the dutys? that's an interesting one, could be a grey area if it's just the start times.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I have to say I agree with you POSTMAN.
I really can't see any prospect of re-signs in offices simply because of change
in start times.

I've not heard of anything as drastic as 2-3 hrs , any office facing that might have
a case for a re-sign though.

If it's in the companys best interests to alter your start time ,then i believe they don't need to consult the union and hence there's
no need for a re-pick.
However seeing as we work for the same company, doing the same job, why should one office start at 6.30 and another at 7.00?
a point to query, also royal mails family friendly policy,(the reason you took the job was because of the hours!)
also i seem to recall something about employment law, that says any amendments to your contractual hours would require 11 weeks notice.
But i don't think we should confuse this with the current negotiations because in my opinion it's a certainty, although we don't need to make life
easy for them.

With regards to employment law , I think the union needs to go through it with a fine tooth comb.

As for making life easy for turnips who want to turn our working lives upside down , dead right robd , we certainly don't have to make
it easy for 'em , nor should we !!! :Very Happy :Applause :so there

not exactly 3hours late however on a saturday we have a lorry at 6am then one at 7am. we say F*** to the missort run as here on the island it wouldn't happen till 9am. Strange thing is most of the ripped up 318's say we should be on the road at 7am! yeah right. cage is only just starting the last lot of specials. so we are a bit screwed over here.
floating postie.
