LARGE PACKETS

Post by swintontillidie »

Ive always been amazed at why large packets are treated as less important than mail! even though in most cases packets cost much more to post and are quite often are first class items. Its become common practice to stockpile packets by removing drivers from duties and placing them on walks.Surely the customer is being cheated and the office manager should be charged with wilful delay.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I know what you mean. Packet deliveries often build up for several days. Its a lot better since our new DOM but it has been a problem for years.

The thing is that I don't care if I get my phone bill 3 months late, I pay by direct debit anyway. If I order a package it's because I want it !

Im sure the public and the post office regulator would be outraged if they were aware of this practice.Im sure somewhere it must be illegal,a customer pays for first class delivery then a manager somewhere in the system delays it .Im sure the customer isnt advised when he pays for first class postage that there is a chance he wont get the service hes paying for.

During the week all oversize packets go on afternoon S.A.'s at my office if you have time to complete great, if not oh well roll 'em over to tomorrow. Majority aren't touched saturday only one guy to do the entire town area, as I've mentioned on here in the harry potter thread watch those books get the special treatment this week, while the rest waits. . . . :arrrghhh

During xmas time our office was swamped with packets they couldn't get out. I was working on the night shift and often came into to see this...

bags and yorks of packets abandoned for the next day, or the day after that, or the day after that.....
I'm working to my time!
