If you hear from any source that predicts a future strike date, and that date is less than seven days away, the story is patently untrue, as the union must give RM at least 7 days notice of any strike date. As jockthearab says, the strike referred to on BBC Northern Ireland is the next Crown Offices one, for which the required notice has already been given.

The earliest possible date for our next stoppage is Saturday 7th July, and then only if the CWU make an announcement tomorrow, which seems unlikely. They'll want true figures on the overwhelming support for today's action first, to present to Leighton and Crozier, along with two pairs of fresh underpants to replace the ones they no doubt soiled today
