MY basic F/T after 40hrs is about £210 after deductions on a P/T contract would depend on Tax Code and contracted hours.

These are all things you needed to ask at the interview or your manager when you start. The DO3 at a guess is the delivery office your working from as Liverpool is large there may be more than one. There's a few Liverpudlians on here.

Also you started 3 Topics could I ask you to put any questions about your new job in this thread just so that we can keep it clean and tidy.

Merged the 2 threads and put in Blue Shirts.
Cheers tbt.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Brenda,
Welcome,and good luck.
Most of all don't let the prospect of a looming strike put you off,it's a brilliant job and if you read some of the posts on here you'll appreciate we
sometimes differ in our opinions but are all passionate about the job!
Anyway, most new starters have been offered this 25 hour contract, and your hours say something like 9.00-2.00.
However most delivery offices will require you to come in earlier than this,it could be 6.30 or 7.00 ish?
DON'T confuse this with coming in early,as long as you agree a duty time this is when you should start.,what Tommo is implying is if that time is
7.00 please don't come in at 6.00.
I don't know what your situation is with university, but when you first start,it will take you some time to pick up the job,and hence you will find
yourself working more than 5 hours, you'll probably see everyone charging out the door, but don't panic!
As TBT said earlier these things should have been made clear to you at the interview, flexibility is not a word in the royal mail dictionary so don't
expect them to be as understanding as Uni.
It's not common practice to return to the office, although some do.
Hope this answers some of your questions/concerns? :wave
